Check out my gal’s beautiful art! Not only are the prints amazing, but the technique/process of creating them is fascinating. It’s called woodblock printmaking. The image is drawn onto a large wood block, then carved by hand. The block is then cut into sections, leaving what looks like a puzzle. Each individual puzzle piece is painted with different colors and the reassembled. The complete block is then pressed onto japanese rice paper. Her work has recently been used on a few different album covers!
